Once a request is made credit bureaus will have to investigate where inaccurate information came from. It happens that a creditor may have written wrong social security number and reported it to all three bureaus. Or you have forgotten about a certain account.
But do it yourself. Call the creditor who gave you this inaccurate information and make sure you receive a release letter, which needs to be faxed to all three credit bureaus. This saves you lots of time. |
