2006 tax breaks on hybrid cars

Starting in 2006 those who purchase a brand new hybrid car will be eligible for more tax breaks than any car owner in the past. Under the new tax laws those with these fuel efficient, energy saving and environmentally friendly cars could get a tax break as large as $1,700 to $3,000. This credit is primarily related to the cost of the new aspects of these hybrid cars. It costs money to fit them with all of these new concepts and so the credit is a way of giving back to you for the extra money you spent to be good tot he earth.

You can get this special tax credit for each hybrid car that you own starting in 2006 but your taxes will not go below your alternative minimum tax so there still is a limit to the amount of credit that will prove useful to you and your taxes.
